Sciences Po and ESA Business School Beirut signed a partnership agreement this Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the Sciences Po headquarters in Paris, in the presence of ESA Business School Director General Maxence Duault and Sciences Po Executive Education Director Philippe Guerinet.

This partnership covers the development of a certification program at the end of which participants will receive the “Board of Directors Certification – Performance Enhancement through Corporate Governance” certificate. Implementation of this training was entrusted to Executive Education of Sciences Po and ESA’s Institute for Finance and Governance (IFG).

The training will be delivered in a “hybrid” format (modules 1 to 5 remotely, module 6 and face-to-face certification in Sciences Po) and will extend over a period of approximately six months divided into a total of six modules. 9 days.

The certification course for the first class will start in June 2023.

In his speech, Maxence Duault welcomed the implementation of this certificate, which is a real need and responds to the desire of a major management school in ESA Beirut, to be on the side of companies and professionals in Lebanon in a crisis. He wanted to thank Sciences Po and its director Matthias Wicherat for this partnership that ensures, if necessary, the excellence of the training provided by ESA and the quality of the long-standing relationship that unites the two institutions with exchange programs for bachelor students.

Philippe Gurinet, Director of Sciences Po Executive Education, sees the potential in this partnership to address the need to professionalize governance internationally, a topic on which Sciences Po Executive Education has built real expertise over the past 10 years. and to take advantage of ESA’s knowledge of local markets to address administrators in Lebanon and the Near and Middle East.

Hadi Al-Assad, coordinator of the IFG, stressed for his part that establishing good governance involves the use of independent directors on the board of directors, who must be trained and certified. This partnership will undoubtedly allow for the creation of a pool of administrators capable of performing their roles well in Lebanon and the region.
